Are you a daycare centre?
No. Jack’n Jill Family Day Home Agency is a licensed family day home agency. Children are cared for in approved educators’ homes. Our office on 102 Street runs matching, training, and monitoring.
Are the homes licensed?
Alberta licenses the agency. We approve and monitor each home in our network against provincial family day home standards.
How many children are in a home?
Family day homes keep small, mixed-age groups. Exact numbers depend on ages present and current provincial rules. Small enough that an educator can sit with one child and still see the room. We will tell you the mix before you visit.
What does one-on-one teaching look like?
Mixed-age homes mean an educator can read, feed, settle, or practise a skill with one child while the others play in sight. Group teaching happens in short circles at the rug or kitchen table—not a classroom of twenty. Playing is most of the day.
What is your first priority?
Children’s safety. We inspect homes, train educators, and will pause a placement if standards slip. Teaching and play sit on top of that—not instead of it.
How do I join the waitlist?
Fill out one waitlist form per child with dates of birth, start date, community, and parent contacts. A waitlist spot is not a confirmed home. Email or call monthly if you still need care.
Do you take subsidy?
Yes. We accept government grants. Eligible families can use Alberta’s Affordability Grant—full-time parent portions can be as low as $326.25/month—and income-tested subsidy when they qualify. Bring your file; we help line it up with the home.
Can I drop in without an appointment?
Call first. Homes are private residences. The office is open weekdays 9–5 for agency business, not drop-in care.
How do I report a safety concern?
Call +1 XXX XXX XXXX on weekdays. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.
